[looks at last journal entry date] Wow, lots to catch up on.

My Sunday 7 has slowed down considerably, but my biggest accomplishment for it was sending away over 60 lbs of home-recorded VHS tapes (over half of my original collection) to be recycled by GreenDisk. It cost money, but it felt better than dumping them in a landfill.

Summer theater went well, both on and behind the stage.

I have a new, potentially lucrative crafty hobby that I gotta get shakin' on.

I am head-over-heels about The Middleman on ABC Family. Seriously. As in, I will finally send out some letters to my extended family so that I can drop a line to the network without any guilt to express my affection for the show and ask for another season. As in, I could be motivated to write a drabble or two (Lord help me). As in, I'm trying to figure out how many (more) fan-made t-shirts I can afford to buy. I've got it bad.

I'll be busy this coming weekend, but between the kitchen (glasses, coasters, and pans) and the craft pile (old project remnants), I managed to find double the items to get rid of. After discovering some likely-expired lipstick this weekend, the bathroom drawers may be next.

Somehow with the junk drawer begging to be sorted, I found myself going through a box of china cabinet knickknacks I'd inherited and discovering that I still possessed Holly Hobbie porcelain figures. Now the decision of attempting to (have someone) sell them on eBay or simply Goodwilling them.

Things are busy and are only going to get busier. March had better be my relax-and-do-nothing month.

Between last week and this week I cleaned out some old food items from the kitchen cabinets (yeah, that tube of cake icing was pretty much hard as a rock after 2 years), cleared some stacks of paper from my bedroom, and gave away some homemade melt-and-pour soap. This was one of those crafts I thought I might take up, so last month I'd actually sat down and used up some of the supplies I had stashed away. It was kind of fun; the soap bases weren't high quality (being from Michael's) so if I continue this, I'd order stuff on-line.

Sheesh, I'm going to end up calling this the "Tuesday 7". Anyway, a big bag of used clothing and various linens and sheets made its way to Goodwill. In my sights for upcoming weeks are the Kitchen Junk Drawer and the Box of Stuff to be Shredded.

Still on track, just late due to a busy weekend. I've got a bag of shoes to drop off at Goodwill, and a bag of fannish items (t-shirt and boxes of HP/SW/LotR valentines) to donate to a charity auction.

This week I went through 4 months of magazine back issues, tearing out the occasional article or picture and recycling the remainder. There's still a hobby magazine collection or two I think I can get rid of, but I find myself wanting to make sure there aren't any articles I want to save. Never mind that I haven't gone through that stack in over a year...

For the first elimination of 2008, I donated:

-- Two bags of fabric and fleece to my friend's church quilting group. I almost got rid of the patchwork fleece quilt I'd started a while back, knowing that I didn't have the time, space, or inclination to finish it. But I realized I'd put a lot of effort into it, and became more reluctant to part with it. So I made the offer that if the quilting group could finish it (it just needs the backing), I'd make a cash donation to the quilters. At least it'll be mostly done by me.
-- 11 store-bought VHS tapes to the local library.
